Classified winery
Bodegas Martúe was founded by Fausto González, who began planting vineyards on the Campo Martuela estate in La Guardia de Toledo in 1990. Ten years later, the El Casar estate was added. After years of patience and careful cultivation, the first wine was produced in 2000. In 2002, the modern winery was completed, and in 2009, Martúe received the prestigious DO Pago Campo de La Guardia classification, an honor awarded to only thirteen wineries in Spain.
Martúe vineyard in La Guardia de Toledo benefits from excellent conditions for high-quality wine production. The Campo Martuela Estate (30 ha) was the first vineyard, planted in 1990 with Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Syrah. The El Casar Estate (51 ha) followed in 2000, adding Malbec and the white variety Chardonnay.
State-of-the-Art Winemaking
Martúe winery is equipped with the latest technology to ensure high-quality wine production. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. The aging area, located 7 meters underground, maintains ideal humidity and temperature year-round. The winery has 1,000 new and semi-new French and American oak barrels for barrel aging.
