In the green heart of Rías Baixas, family-run Corisca creates honest wines from its own land. Small-scale, sustainable, and fully organic, tradition, care, and nature go hand in hand here.
Organic Albariño from the heart of Rías Baixas
Bodegas Corisca is a small family winery in Galicia. In the sub-region Condado do Tea, they produce organic Albariño wines from their own vineyards. What started as an idea to make the surroundings, traditions, and beliefs tangible, has grown into a sustainable wine project deeply rooted in the landscape.
A family history in wine
The passion for wine began with the father, who planted the first Albariño grapes on two hectares of family land fifty years ago. The second generation, his children, continues his work with attention to quality and respect for the land. This means: no chemicals, no herbicides. Only natural fertilizers are used when the vines truly need them.
Pioneers in organic viticulture
Early on, they chose the organic path. The vineyards are certified and maintained with great care and love. Despite the small scale, they now manage four contiguous hectares where they work with dedication every day.
Corisca: a name with meaning
The first organic harvest took place in 2009. The wine was named Corisca, after the first plot where Albariño was planted. Corisca means stormy wind with rain and hail, reflecting the rugged Galician climate in which the grapes grow.
It all begins in the vineyard
The grapes are handpicked and carefully processed, using only natural yeasts. The juice ferments in stainless steel tanks and then matures for three months on fine lees. The result is a fresh, pure Albariño with full flavor and beautiful balance.
Connected to the place
The winery is located in a restored Galician farmhouse, surrounded by forests and mountains. It blends into the landscape, just like their working methods. The family believes that good wine begins with the place it originates from. When you taste Corisca, you taste the landscape, the care, and the tranquility within.
