Wine and granite in the heart of Ribeiro
In the hills of Ribeiro, in northwestern Spain, lies D’Vagar Adegas. This young winery draws its inspiration from one of the oldest wine regions in Europe, where winemaking has been part of the landscape and culture for more than two thousand years.
D’Vagar was founded with the intention of making this history tangible again and connecting it with a contemporary vision. Here, speed is not the priority. Attention is. The name itself reflects this philosophy, referring in Galician to something done slowly and with care.
Granite as a foundation
The vineyards are rooted in granite soils, a defining feature of Ribeiro wines for centuries. This stone gives structure, freshness, and a clear sense of tension to the grapes.
What sets D’Vagar apart is that granite is present not only in the vineyard, but also in the cellar. The winery works with granite vessels and amphorae, a return to historical techniques of the region that allows for a pure and direct evolution of the wine.
Native grapes at the core
The focus is on grape varieties that have long been part of Ribeiro’s identity. Treixadura plays a central role, complemented by other local varieties such as Albariño and Godello. These grapes thrive in the Atlantic influenced climate, where warm days and cool nights support balanced ripening.
