Two regions, one vision: the wines of Clos Cor Vi
Clos Cor Vi is a winery that works from the inside out, with close attention to grape variety, soil and climate. The estate produces wine in two locations in the Comunidad Valenciana: the Mediterranean village of Moixent and the higher-altitude area of Los Isidros. The differences between these two regions are significant and that contrast is exactly what makes Clos Cor Vi’s wines so distinctive. Each plot is approached individually, with the aim of producing sustainable wines that are clear and well-balanced. The winery does not adhere to minimal intervention as a fixed style, but makes deliberate, well-considered choices that suit the grape, the plot and the vintage.
Whites from Moixent: fresh and precise
In Moixent, part of the DO Valencia, Clos Cor Vi mainly grows white grape varieties on limestone-rich soils. The influence of the Mediterranean climate and the vineyard altitude result in wines with natural freshness and a clear structure. A key variety here is Verdil, a rare local grape that plays a central role in Clos Cor Vi’s range. The wine is light and refreshing, with enough depth to hold interest. Riesling and Viognier are also grown: the former is taut and mineral, the latter rounder and more aromatic. All three are vinified with precision, using only what is necessary to let the grape express itself.
Reds from Los Isidros: depth and precision
Los Isidros lies at a higher elevation and is part of the protected Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park, within the DO Utiel-Requena. Conditions here are more extreme: poor, stony soils and sharp temperature swings between day and night. Clos Cor Vi focuses here on Bobal, a native red grape well suited to the local climate. Maloco shows Bobal’s direct, energetic side, with structure and freshness. Las Hoces, made from grapes grown on the poorest plots, is more complex and has undergone longer maturation. Both wines are carefully composed, restrained in style, and allow the place to come through, without leaning on power or excess.
Vinification by plot
Each plot at Clos Cor Vi is vinified separately. Depending on the grape variety and the vintage, the team works with stainless steel tanks, clay amphorae or French oak barrels. There are no fixed routines, each wine calls for a different approach. Every technical decision, from fermentation temperature to ageing duration, is made based on knowledge and experience, with the goal of highlighting the character of the grape and the year. Sustainability plays a central role throughout the process, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. This flexibility makes it possible to bring out the individuality of each wine, in response to the needs of the vintage and the grape.
Wines with a clear identity
Clos Cor Vi produces wines that are recognisable in both style and origin. By working with the contrast between Moixent and Los Isidros, the estate has created a diverse but coherent range: precise, balanced, and expressive. There is no single house style, but a collection of wines that each tell their own story, carefully crafted, sustainably made, and focused on clarity of expression.
